Procurement Buyer, Hugo Cano

Hugo was born in Ciudad Juarez Chihuahua, Mexico and is nearly a life-long resident of Gallup, having lived here since the age of three. He is a 1995 graduate of Gallup High School and enjoys living in the area because of its rich history, diverse cultures and “it’s just home” as he says it. He is married with two children.  

Hugo is currently working towards a Bachelors Degree in Administration and the NMPPA State Purchasing Certification. He has worked with McKinley County for more than two years and was recently hired on as a Purchasing Buyer. Hugo is responsible for processing requisitions and purchase orders, administering invitations for bid (IFB) and requests for proposal (RFP) among many other procurement duties on a daily basis. Hugo enjoys working with the employees, department heads, supervisors and commissioners to provide the most effective and efficient administration of the public’s tax dollar.
