The Juvenile Substance Crisis Abuse Center (JSACC) opened to the community in March 2001. The program is a centralized 8-bed facility in Gallup, New Mexico, co-located with the existing Juvenile Detention Center. The JSACC is a program designed to intervene at a crisis point in the lives of youth between the ages of 12 thru 17 when involvement with substance abuse. By providing safe haven, social detoxification, early intervention and case management and compliance program for the youth, the JSACC program hopes to redirect them away from substance abuse and juvenile justice system involvement toward dealing with their problems, relating better with their families, and getting appropriate additional help where needed. Services are delivered by appropriately trained staff who provide 24-hour supervision, observation and support for the youth who are intoxicated and/or undergoing withdrawal. Assessment services and referrals to other forms of treatment are also provided. 

A complete mental health evaluation is performed on site by contracted evaluation specialists. Other agencies assisting us in our purpose are Rehoboth Medical Christian Hospital Mental Health, Gallup McKinley County Public School Counselors, State, Local, and Tribal Law Enforcements, and Children Youth and Family Division.
