What steps must I take to change the status of my manufactured home from personal property to real property (taxed as a permanent structure)?

•Bring the title or registration to the Treasurer's office.
•We will research and examine for taxes, penalties, and interest that must be paid in full, including the Current Year Taxes (One-Year-In-Advance) on the mobile home.
•The owner of the mobile home must own the real estate to which the mobile home is on. So the title of the mobile home must have the same owner(s) name(s) as it says on the land/deed.
•If mobile home does not have the same owner(s) name(s) as it says on the land/deed, you must transfer the title to the correct owner(s) name(s).
•If mobile home is paid in full, including the Current Year Taxes, We will issue a tax release and you will go to the Assessor's office to request that it be taxed as real property, which is called a Change of Valuation Letter.
•After the Change of Valuation is signed and completed in the Assessor's office, you then take the tax release to NM M.V.D. to deactivate the title.
•Once the title is deactivated, you must take the new title to the McKinley County Assessor's office to update their records and complete the process.
